The Robert Hunt Library was founded by Bobby Hunt, a noted artist, art teacher and cartoonist who became a leading picture researcher on modern military topics during the 1960s and beyond. Over the years, Hunt built up a sizeable library of images on all aspects of 20th century warfare, and today, the collection encompasses comprehensive material on World War I and World War II as well as other notable conflicts such as the Korean War and Vietnam War.
As exclusive representatives of this superlative archive, our digitisation is ongoing with over 5,700 images online to date. Particularly notable is the material on the two world wars and although the bulk of material is photographic, posters, cartoons and military memorabilia ensure the Robert Hunt Library covers the history of conflict from all angles. |
